No matter how much you look after your pride and joy, gelcoat damage is just a simple fact of any boaters life. Small gel chips and scratches in white boats can be relatively simple to repair and hide. But large scale gelcoat repair work caused by collision damage or stress in dark coloured boats isn’t as straight forward. This type of gelcoat repair work is not as easy to “hide” and requires a perfect gelcoat colour match to blend the gelcoat repair into the original colour of the boat. We have effected countless invisible gelcoat repairs to boats, from simple chips and blisters to re-gelcoating entire boats. In nearly every colour boat in production.

Fibreglass production boat building has evolved over recent years, as manufacturers and designers have found ways of increasing boat strength and reducing weight and consequently material consumption. The use of vacuum bagging and resin infusion is also becoming more prevalent in mainstream boat building, with the use of lightweight core materials such as foam and balsa.

It is important to recognise the construction techniques used by the manufacturer before any repair work is carried out. Power Marine have over 15 years experience in the boat repair industry and we can draw from the knowledge and skill developed in building our own boats.

Power Marine's expertise in fibreglass repair is often called upon to assist other companies within the marine industry, and at times by completely different industries.
